How to add pages and navigation menus on Wix

Access the Site Menu Panel

You can also access this by clicking on any existing menu on your site and selecting 'Manage Menu' from the toolbar.

Add a New Page
In the Site Menu panel, click the + Add Page button at the bottom. Choose from page types like Page (blank page), Blog, Store, or select from templates. Enter your page name and click Add.

Choose descriptive page names that reflect your content - these will appear in your URL and navigation.

Organize Your Page Structure
Drag and drop pages to reorder them in your navigation. To create a sub-page, drag a page slightly to the right under another page until you see an indent. This creates a dropdown menu structure.

Keep your main navigation simple with 5-7 top-level pages for better user experience.

Customize Page Settings
Click the three dots next to any page to access settings. Here you can rename the page, change the URL slug, set SEO settings, or hide from menu if you want the page to exist but not show in navigation.

Use the 'Hide from Menu' option for thank you pages, special landing pages, or pages under construction.

Add External Links to Navigation
To add external links, click + Add Page and select External Link. Enter the URL and link text. You can also add Anchor links to jump to specific sections of your pages.

External links will open in a new tab by default - perfect for social media profiles or partner websites.

Customize Menu Design
Click on your navigation menu on the site to select it, then use the Design tab to change colors, fonts, spacing, and layout. You can switch between horizontal, vertical, or hamburger menu styles.

Mobile menus automatically convert to hamburger style, but you can preview and customize the mobile version separately.

Set Homepage and Navigation Behavior
In the Site Menu panel, hover over any page and click the home icon to set it as your homepage. Configure whether links open in the same window or new tab by clicking the page settings.

Your homepage should typically be named 'Home' or use your business name for better SEO.

Preview and Publish Changes
Click Preview at the top of the editor to test your navigation on desktop and mobile. Check that all links work correctly and the menu displays properly. When satisfied, click Publish to make changes live.

Always test your navigation on mobile devices as the menu behavior may differ from desktop.
Troubleshooting
New pages don't appear in the navigation menu
Check if the page is set to Hidden from Menu in page settings. Click the three dots next to the page and ensure Show in Menu is enabled.
Menu items appear in wrong order
In the Site Menu panel, drag and drop pages to reorder them. The order in this panel reflects the order in your navigation menu.
Dropdown menus not working properly
Ensure sub-pages are properly indented under parent pages in the Site Menu panel. Drag sub-pages slightly to the right until you see the indent indicator.
Menu looks different on mobile vs desktop
Use the mobile preview to check mobile appearance. Mobile menus often convert to hamburger style automatically. You can customize mobile menu design separately in the Design tab.
