How to add zoom effects on Screen Studio

Select Your Video Clip
Open your Screen Studio project and click on the video clip in the timeline where you want to add the zoom effect. The clip will be highlighted with a blue border when selected. Make sure the playhead is positioned at the beginning of where you want the zoom to start.

Open the Transform Panel

Set Your Starting Keyframe
In the Transform panel, locate the Scale property. Click the small diamond icon next to the Scale value to create your first keyframe. The diamond will turn blue, indicating a keyframe has been set. Set this to

Move the Playhead to End Position
Drag the playhead in the timeline to where you want the zoom effect to finish. This could be a few seconds later depending on how long you want the zoom transition to last. The longer the duration, the slower and smoother the zoom will appear.

For subtle zoom effects, try 2-3 second durations. For dramatic zooms, 1-2 seconds works well.

Create the End Keyframe with New Scale Value
With the playhead at your end position, change the Scale value in the Transform panel. For zoom in effects, increase to values like
150% or 200%. For zoom out effects, decrease to 75% or 50%. Screen Studio will automatically create a new keyframe and animate between the two values.Tip
Hold Shift while dragging the scale slider for more precise control over the zoom amount.

Adjust the Zoom Center Point
If you want to zoom into a specific area, adjust the Position values in the Transform panel. You can also click and drag directly on the preview window to reposition where the zoom focuses. This is especially useful for highlighting specific parts of your screen recording.
Tip
Use the anchor point controls to change what part of the frame the zoom centers on.

Fine-tune with Easing
Right-click on any keyframe in the timeline and select Keyframe Interpolation. Choose from options like Linear, Ease In, Ease Out, or Ease In Out to make your zoom feel more natural and professional. Ease In Out typically provides the smoothest results.

Preview your effect by pressing spacebar or clicking the play button to see how the easing affects the zoom feel.

Preview and Export
Play back your timeline to review the zoom effect. If you need adjustments, select the keyframes and modify the Scale or Position values. You can also drag keyframes in the timeline to change the timing. Once satisfied, export your video using File > Export or the export button.

Troubleshooting
Zoom effect appears choppy or jerky
Check your keyframe interpolation settings and switch to Ease In Out. Also ensure you have enough frames between keyframes for smooth animation - at least 30 frames for a 1-second transition at 30fps.
Video becomes pixelated when zoomed in
This happens when zooming beyond 100% on lower resolution footage. Try using upscaling filters in the Effects panel or record at a higher resolution initially. Keep zoom levels under 150% when possible.
Keyframes not being created automatically
Make sure you have Auto-keyframe enabled in the Transform panel, or manually click the diamond icon next to each property before making changes. Check that your playhead has moved between keyframe creation.
Zoom centers on wrong area of screen
