How to generate waveform videos on Pimosa

Upload your audio file
Log into your Pimosa account and click the Create New Project button. Select Waveform Video from the project types. Click Upload Audio and choose your audio file from your device. Supported formats include MP3, WAV, M4A, and FLAC files up to 100MB.

Choose waveform style
In the Waveform Settings panel, select your preferred waveform visualization style. Options include Classic Bars, Circular Waves, Linear Spectrum, and Particle Flow. Click on each style to preview how it will look with your audio.

Circular waves work best for music tracks, while linear spectrum is ideal for podcasts

Customize colors and background
Navigate to the Visual Customization tab. Choose your waveform colors using the color picker or enter hex codes. Select a background from the Background Library or upload a custom image. Adjust the Waveform Opacity slider to blend with your background.

Configure animation settings
In the Animation Panel, set your desired Frame Rate (24fps, 30fps, or 60fps). Choose animation speed using the Responsiveness slider. Enable Smooth Transitions for fluid movement between audio peaks.

Add text overlays (optional)
Click Add Text to include song titles, artist names, or other information. Position text using the drag handles and customize font, size, and color in the Text Properties panel. Set text display timing using the Timeline Controls.

Preview your waveform video
Click the Preview button to generate a 10-second sample of your waveform video. Use the preview to check timing, colors, and overall appearance. Make adjustments to settings if needed and preview again until satisfied.

Set export preferences
Open the Export Settings menu and choose your video resolution (720p, 1080p, or 4K). Select output format (MP4 recommended) and quality level (Good, Better, or Best). Choose whether to include the original audio or a compressed version.

Generate and download video
Click Generate Waveform Video to start the rendering process. Processing time varies based on audio length and export settings (typically 2-5 minutes per minute of audio). Once complete, click Download to save your MP4 file.

Troubleshooting
Audio file won't upload
Ensure your file is under 100MB and in a supported format (MP3, WAV, M4A, FLAC). Try converting to MP3 if you're using an uncommon audio format.
Waveform appears flat or inactive
Check that your audio file has sufficient dynamic range. Increase the Sensitivity setting in the waveform panel, or try normalizing your audio before upload.
Export takes too long or fails
Reduce video resolution or quality settings. For very long audio files (over 30 minutes), consider splitting into shorter segments or upgrading to Pimosa Pro for faster processing.
Colors don't match preview
Clear your browser cache and refresh the page. Ensure you're using the latest version of Chrome or Firefox, as older browsers may display colors differently during export.
