How to extract audio from videos on Pimosa

Quick Answer

Pimosa allows you to easily extract audio from videos through its built-in conversion tools. Simply upload your video, select the audio extraction option, choose your preferred format, and download the extracted audio file.

Prerequisites

  1. A Pimosa account
  2. Video file uploaded to your Pimosa library
  3. Basic understanding of audio file formats
  4. Stable internet connection
1

Access your Pimosa dashboard

Log into your Pimosa account and navigate to the main dashboard. Click on My Media in the left sidebar to view your uploaded video files.
Tip
Make sure your video file is fully uploaded and processed before attempting audio extraction.
2

Select the video file

Locate the video file from which you want to extract audio. Click on the video thumbnail or title to open the file details page. You'll see various options and metadata for your video file.
3

Open the conversion menu

On the video details page, look for the Actions dropdown menu in the top-right corner. Click on it and select Extract Audio from the available options.
Tip
If you don't see the Extract Audio option, ensure your video file has finished processing.
4

Choose audio format and quality

In the audio extraction dialog, select your preferred audio format from the dropdown menu. Common options include MP3, WAV, AAC, and FLAC. Choose the quality settings using the Bitrate slider (128kbps to 320kbps for MP3).
Tip
MP3 at 192kbps offers a good balance between file size and audio quality for most purposes.
5

Configure extraction settings

Optionally, set a custom start and end time if you only want to extract audio from a specific portion of the video. Use the Start Time and End Time fields in MM:SS format. Leave these blank to extract the entire audio track.
6

Start the extraction process

Review your settings and click the Extract Audio button to begin the process. Pimosa will display a progress bar showing the extraction status. The time required depends on the video length and selected quality.
Tip
Don't close the browser tab during extraction, as this may interrupt the process.
7

Download the extracted audio

Once extraction is complete, you'll see a Download button appear. Click it to save the audio file to your device. The extracted audio will also be automatically saved to your Pimosa Audio Files section for future access.
Tip
Right-click the download button and select 'Save link as' to choose a specific location and filename.

Troubleshooting

Extract Audio option is grayed out or missing
Ensure your video file has finished uploading and processing. Check that the video format is supported by Pimosa. Try refreshing the page and waiting a few minutes for processing to complete.
Audio extraction fails or gets stuck
Check your internet connection stability. Try extracting with a lower quality setting first. If the video file is very large, consider splitting it into smaller segments before extraction.
Extracted audio file has poor quality or distortion
Verify that the original video has good audio quality. Try extracting with a higher bitrate setting. For best results, use WAV format which provides lossless audio quality.
Download button doesn't appear after extraction
Refresh the page and check the Audio Files section in your media library. Clear your browser cache and cookies for Pimosa. If the issue persists, contact Pimosa support with your file details.
