How to install Chrome extension for recording on Loom

Open Chrome Web Store
Launch Google Chrome and navigate to the Chrome Web Store by typing

Search for Loom extension
In the Chrome Web Store search bar, type Loom and press Enter. Look for the official Loom extension with the purple Loom logo and the description Screen & Video Recording.
Tip
Make sure to select the official Loom extension published by 'Loom' to avoid fake extensions.

Add Loom to Chrome
Click on the Loom extension from the search results, then click the blue Add to Chrome button. A popup will appear asking for permissions - click Add extension to confirm the installation.

The extension requires permissions to capture screen content and access your camera/microphone for recording.

Pin the Loom extension
After installation, click the Extensions icon (puzzle piece) in the top-right corner of Chrome. Find Loom in the list and click the pin icon next to it to keep it visible in your toolbar.

Sign in to your Loom account
Click the Loom icon in your Chrome toolbar. A popup will appear prompting you to sign in. Click Sign In and enter your Loom account credentials, or click Sign up for free if you don't have an account yet.

Grant necessary permissions
Chrome may prompt you to allow Loom to access your camera, microphone, and screen sharing. Click Allow for each permission when prompted to enable full recording functionality.

Test the installation
Click the Loom icon in your toolbar and select your recording preferences (screen, camera, or both). Click Start Recording to test that the extension is working properly. You should see a countdown timer before recording begins.

Troubleshooting
Loom extension not appearing in Chrome toolbar
Click the Extensions icon (puzzle piece) in Chrome toolbar, find Loom in the dropdown, and click the pin icon. If still not visible, try refreshing the page or restarting Chrome.
Screen recording permission denied
Go to Chrome Settings > Privacy and security > Site settings > Additional permissions > Screen sharing. Find loom.com and change the setting to Allow.
Extension installation fails or shows error
Clear your Chrome cache and cookies by pressing
