How to upload videos to lessons on Kajabi
Quick Answer
Upload videos to Kajabi lessons by navigating to your product, selecting the lesson, clicking the video upload area, and choosing your video file. Kajabi will process and host your video automatically within their platform.
Prerequisites
- Active Kajabi account
- Video files ready to upload (MP4, MOV, or AVI format)
- Course or coaching product already created
- Basic understanding of Kajabi's product structure
1
Access Your Product
Log into your Kajabi dashboard and navigate to Products in the main menu. Select the course or coaching product where you want to add video lessons. Click on the product name to enter the product editor.
Tip
Make sure your product structure is already set up with modules and lessons before uploading videos.
2
Navigate to the Target Lesson
In the product editor, locate the module containing your target lesson. Click on the lesson title to open the lesson editor. If you need to create a new lesson, click + Add Lesson within the appropriate module.
3
Access Video Upload Section
In the lesson editor, you'll see the main content area. Look for the Video section at the top of the lesson content. Click on the Upload Video button or the video placeholder area to begin the upload process.
Tip
Kajabi supports MP4, MOV, and AVI formats with recommended resolution of 1080p or higher.
4
Upload Your Video File
Click Choose File or drag and drop your video file into the upload area. Select your video file from your computer's file browser. Kajabi will begin uploading and processing your video automatically. You'll see a progress bar indicating the upload status.
Tip
Keep the browser tab open during upload to ensure the process completes successfully.
5
Configure Video Settings
Once uploaded, configure your video settings. Add a video title and description if desired. Set video permissions using the Access dropdown (Public, Private, or Password Protected). Choose whether to allow video downloads by checking or unchecking the Allow Download option.
Tip
Use descriptive titles and descriptions to help students navigate your content more easily.
6
Add Lesson Content and Resources
Below the video section, add any additional lesson content using the rich text editor. You can include text, images, downloadable resources, and assessments. Use the + Add Content Block button to insert different content types as needed.
Tip
Break up long videos with text summaries or key points to improve student engagement.
7
Preview and Publish
Click the Preview button to see how your lesson appears to students. Check that the video plays correctly and all content displays properly. When satisfied, click Save to save your changes. The lesson will be immediately available to enrolled students.
Tip
Always test your video playback on different devices to ensure optimal student experience.
Troubleshooting
Video upload fails or gets stuck
Check your internet connection and try uploading again. Ensure your video file is under Kajabi's size limit (typically 5GB). Try compressing your video or using a different browser if issues persist.
Video quality appears poor after upload
Kajabi automatically compresses videos during processing. Upload videos in 1080p resolution or higher with a bitrate of at least 5000 kbps for best results. Allow 10-15 minutes for processing to complete.
Students can't access the video lesson
Verify the lesson's Access Settings are configured correctly. Check that students are properly enrolled in the product and that the lesson isn't scheduled for future release in the Drip Settings.
Video won't play on mobile devices
Ensure you're using MP4 format with H.264 codec for maximum compatibility. Avoid using proprietary formats or codecs that may not be supported across all devices.
