How to add course modules and lessons on Kajabi

Navigate to Your Course Product
Log into your Kajabi dashboard and go to Products from the main navigation menu. Find your course product and click the Edit Course button next to it.
Tip
If you don't see your course, make sure it's set as a 'Course' product type, not just a regular product.

Access the Course Builder
Once in the course editor, you'll see the Course Outline section. This is where you'll build your course structure. Click + Add Module to create your first module container.

Create and Configure Your Module
Enter a descriptive Module Title and optional Module Description. You can also set module settings like making it Available Immediately or scheduling it for Drip Release. Click Save Module when finished.

Use clear, descriptive module titles that indicate the learning outcome or topic focus.

Add Lessons to Your Module
Inside your module, click + Add Lesson. Choose your lesson type: Video Lesson, Text Lesson, Audio Lesson, or Download Lesson. Each type has different content upload options.

Video lessons typically have the highest engagement rates and completion percentages.

Upload and Configure Lesson Content
For video lessons, click Upload Video and select your file or paste a Vimeo/YouTube URL. Add a Lesson Title, Description, and any Downloadable Resources. Set lesson availability and completion settings.

Keep video files under 2GB for faster uploading and better playback performance.

Set Lesson Completion Requirements
In the lesson settings, choose completion criteria: Mark as Complete When Viewed, Manual Completion, or Assessment Required. You can also enable Comments and Notes for student engagement.

Organize and Reorder Content
Use the drag and drop handles to reorder lessons within modules or move lessons between modules. Click the three dots menu next to any lesson to duplicate, delete, or access advanced settings.

Preview and Publish Changes
Click Preview Course to see how students will experience your content. Test all video playback, downloads, and navigation. When satisfied, click Save Changes to make your modules and lessons live to enrolled students.

Troubleshooting
Video uploads are failing or timing out
Ensure your video file is under 2GB and in a supported format (MP4, MOV, AVI). Try uploading during off-peak hours or use Vimeo hosting instead.
Students can't see new modules or lessons
Check that the module Availability is set to Available Immediately and not scheduled for future release. Also verify the course is Published in the product settings.
Lessons appear out of order
Use the drag and drop handles in the course outline to reorder lessons. Make sure to Save Changes after reordering content.
Module descriptions or content not displaying
Refresh the course builder page and check that all content was saved properly. Re-enter any missing descriptions and click Save Module or Save Lesson.
