How to set up design account on Figma

Setting up a Figma design account is free and takes just a few minutes. Simply visit figma.com, sign up with your email, verify your account, and complete your profile to start designing.

Visit the Figma website
Open your web browser and navigate to figma.com. Click the Sign up button in the top-right corner of the homepage.
Tip
Figma works best in Chrome, but also supports Firefox, Safari, and Edge browsers.

Choose your sign-up method
On the sign-up page, you can either:
- Enter your email address and create a password
- Click Continue with Google to use your Google account
- Click Continue with Apple if you prefer using your Apple ID

Verify your email address
If you signed up with an email address, check your inbox for a verification email from Figma. Click the Verify email button in the email to confirm your account. If you don't see the email, check your spam folder.

Complete your profile setup
After verification, you'll be prompted to complete your profile. Fill in:
- Your full name
- Your role (Designer, Developer, Product Manager, etc.)
- Your company or organization (optional)
- How you plan to use Figma

Choose your plan

Set up your workspace
Figma will create your personal workspace automatically. You can:
- Rename your workspace by clicking on the workspace name
- Add a workspace avatar by clicking the profile icon
- Invite team members by clicking Invite if needed

Create your first design file
Click the + New button and select Design file to create your first project. You can also:

Troubleshooting
Email verification not received
Check your spam/junk folder first. If still not found, go to the sign-in page and click Resend verification email. Make sure you're checking the correct email address.
Unable to sign up with Google or Apple
Ensure you're logged into your Google or Apple account in the same browser. Clear your browser cache and cookies, then try again. Alternatively, use the email sign-up method instead.
Figma interface not loading properly
Try refreshing the page or clearing your browser cache. Ensure you're using a supported browser (Chrome, Firefox, Safari, Edge). Disable browser extensions that might interfere with Figma.
Can't access workspace after signup
Make sure you've completed email verification. Try logging out and back in. If the issue persists, contact Figma support through the Help menu in the bottom-right corner.
