How to use infinite tree navigation on Daino Notes
Quick Answer
Infinite tree navigation in Daino Notes allows you to explore and organize notes in an unlimited hierarchical structure. Access it through the sidebar tree view, use keyboard shortcuts for quick navigation, and leverage the zoom functionality to focus on specific branches.
Prerequisites
- Active Daino Notes account
- Basic understanding of hierarchical note organization
- Familiarity with Daino Notes interface
- At least 5-10 existing notes in your workspace
1
Access the Tree Navigation Panel
Click on the Tree View icon in the left sidebar or press
Ctrl+T (Windows/Linux) or Cmd+T (Mac). The infinite tree navigation panel will expand, showing your note hierarchy with expandable nodes and infinite scroll capabilities.Tip
Pin the tree panel by clicking the pin icon to keep it always visible while working.
2
Navigate Through Tree Levels
Click the arrow icons next to parent notes to expand or collapse branches. Use
↑ and ↓ arrow keys to move between notes, and → to expand a node or ← to collapse it. The tree will automatically load more levels as you navigate deeper into the hierarchy.Tip
Hold Shift while clicking expand/collapse arrows to expand or collapse all child branches at once.
3
Use Infinite Scroll and Zoom
Scroll vertically within the tree panel to access notes beyond the visible area. Use
Ctrl + Mouse Wheel to zoom in/out of the tree structure, allowing you to see more or fewer details. Click the Fit to View button to automatically adjust the zoom level to show your entire tree structure.Tip
Double-click on empty space in the tree to reset zoom to 100%.
4
Search Within Tree Structure
Press
Ctrl+F while in tree view to open the search box. Type your query and Daino Notes will highlight matching notes throughout the infinite tree. Use F3 or Enter to jump to the next match, and Shift+F3 to go to the previous match.Tip
Use wildcards like * in your search to find partial matches across note titles and content.
5
Drag and Drop for Organization
Click and hold any note in the tree to drag it to a new location. Drop it onto another note to make it a child, or drop it between notes to reorder at the same level. The tree will automatically expand target folders during drag operations and update the infinite structure in real-time.
Tip
Hold Alt while dragging to create a copy of the note instead of moving it.
6
Create Notes Directly in Tree
Right-click on any note or empty space in the tree to open the context menu. Select New Child Note to create a subordinate note, or New Sibling Note to create a note at the same level. The new note will appear instantly in the tree structure with a default name that you can immediately edit.
Tip
Press Tab after selecting a note to quickly create a child note, or Shift+Tab to create a sibling note.
7
Customize Tree Display Options
Click the Settings gear icon in the tree panel header. Configure options like Show Note Previews, Display Creation Dates, Tree Line Style, and Auto-expand Depth. Enable Infinite Loading to automatically load deeper levels as you scroll, or disable it for manual control.
Tip
Enable 'Minimap Mode' in settings to see a bird's-eye view of your entire note structure.
Troubleshooting
Tree navigation is slow or laggy with large note collections
Go to Settings → Performance and reduce the Auto-expand Depth to 2-3 levels. Enable Lazy Loading and increase the Virtualization Buffer Size to improve performance with thousands of notes.
Notes are not appearing in the correct tree hierarchy
Click Refresh Tree in the tree panel menu or press
F5 while focused on the tree. If issues persist, go to Settings → Sync and click Force Rebuild Index to reconstruct the tree structure.Keyboard shortcuts for tree navigation are not working
Ensure the tree panel is focused by clicking inside it first. Check Settings → Keyboard Shortcuts to verify tree navigation shortcuts haven't been modified or conflicted with other extensions.
Drag and drop operations are not working properly in the tree
Disable any browser extensions that might interfere with drag operations. In Daino Notes, go to Settings → Advanced and toggle Enhanced Drag Mode off and on again to reset the drag system.
