How to schedule newsletter broadcasts on ConvertKit

Access the Broadcasts Section

Choose Your Broadcast Type and Audience
Select Email Broadcast as your broadcast type. Choose your target audience by selecting from your available tags, segments, or subscribers. You can send to All subscribers or narrow down to specific segments using the Send to dropdown menu.

Compose Your Newsletter Content
Enter a compelling Subject Line that will encourage opens. In the email editor, add your newsletter content using ConvertKit's drag-and-drop builder or HTML editor. Include your From Name and From Email address. Preview your email using the Preview button to ensure formatting looks correct.

Keep subject lines under 50 characters for better mobile display and test different variations.

Configure Email Settings
Scroll down to the Email Settings section. Verify your Reply-to Email address is correct. Add a Preview Text (preheader) to complement your subject line. Ensure your Unsubscribe settings are configured properly.

Preview text appears next to the subject line in most email clients, so make it count as additional subject line space.

Set Up Scheduling Options
In the Send Options section, select Schedule for later instead of Send now. Click on the Date field to choose your desired send date using the calendar picker. Then select your preferred Time using the time dropdown menu.

Select Time Zone and Confirm Details
Choose the appropriate Time Zone from the dropdown menu. ConvertKit will display the scheduled send time in both your selected time zone and UTC. Review all details including audience size, subject line, and scheduled time in the summary section.
Tip
If you have a global audience, consider scheduling multiple sends for different time zones or choose a time that works reasonably well for your primary audience.

Schedule Your Broadcast
Click the Schedule Broadcast button to confirm and schedule your newsletter. ConvertKit will show a confirmation message with your scheduled send details. The broadcast will appear in your Scheduled tab within the Broadcasts section.
Tip
You can edit or cancel scheduled broadcasts up until they're sent by accessing them from the Scheduled tab.

Monitor and Manage Scheduled Broadcasts
Return to Sends > Broadcasts and click the Scheduled tab to view all pending newsletters. From here, you can Edit, Duplicate, or Cancel scheduled broadcasts. Once sent, broadcasts move to the Sent tab where you can view performance analytics.
Tip
Set up email notifications in your account settings to get alerts when broadcasts are successfully sent.
Troubleshooting
Scheduled broadcast didn't send at the specified time
Check your Scheduled tab to see if the broadcast is still pending. Verify the time zone settings and ensure your account has sufficient credits. Contact ConvertKit support if the issue persists.
Cannot find the schedule option
Ensure you've completed all required fields including subject line and audience selection. The Schedule for later option appears in the Send Options section at the bottom of the broadcast editor.
Scheduled time shows differently than expected
Verify you've selected the correct time zone in the scheduling options. ConvertKit displays times in both your selected zone and UTC for reference. Double-check AM/PM settings if using 12-hour format.
Cannot edit scheduled broadcast
Broadcasts can only be edited before they're sent. If the send time has passed but the email hasn't gone out, check for account issues or contact support. Otherwise, create a new broadcast with your updates.
