How to access the control panel on Contabo
Quick Answer
Access Contabo's original Customer Control Panel at https://my.contabo.com using credentials from your 'Your login data!' email; set up separate credentials for new.contabo.com via the original panel. Secure your account with password change and 2FA immediately after login. Common issues like forgotten passwords or inactive subscriptions are fixed via reset links or renewing service.
Prerequisites
- Active Contabo subscription
- Email address with 'Your login data!' welcome email
- Access to email inbox for resets
- Stable web browser
1
Navigate to original login page
Open your web browser and go to https://my.contabo.com, the original Customer Control Panel interface for managing Contabo products, servers, and billing.
2
Enter login credentials
Use the email address and password from the “Your login data!” email received after your first order. Note that my.contabo.com and new.contabo.com have separate login credentials; do not interchange them.
Tip
If no active subscription, access is denied—renew or place a new order first.
3
Complete login and secure account
Click the login button to access the dashboard. Immediately go to Customer details (via top navigation or profile menu), change your password, and enable 2-factor authentication (2FA) for security.
Tip
Always save credentials securely in a password manager.
4
Explore dashboard and server controls
From the main dashboard, use the 'Servers & Hosting' drop-down to select VPS control, VDS control, or Server control based on your product. Perform actions like start/stop servers, rescue mode, or snapshots (VPS only).
5
Locate server details
In Your services page under Servers & Hosting, find your server to note the IP address (e.g., 173.xxx.xxx.xxx), root username (default:
root), and any Panel links for cPanel/WHM or Plesk.Tip
Server credentials differ from Customer Control Panel login.
6
Set up new interface credentials
Still in my.contabo.com, go to Customer details and create login credentials for the new interface—these are also used for the Contabo Help Desk.
7
Log in to new interface
Go to https://new.contabo.com and log in with the newly set credentials. This updated dashboard offers similar server management features.
Tip
Use incognito mode if browser issues occur.
8
Access pre-installed control panels
In my.contabo.com > Your services, click the Panel link next to your server. Or use direct URL like
https://<SERVER_IP>:2087 for cPanel/WHM (port 2087). Use credentials from welcome email; change password on first login.Tip
For Plesk, an Auth-Code from email may be needed.
9
Connect via SSH for direct management
Use terminal (Linux/Mac) or PuTTY (Windows): run
ssh root@<SERVER_IP> (e.g., ssh root@173.xxx.xxx.xxx) with root password from email.10
Check billing and payments
Navigate to Account > Billing & Payment to view history, balance, invoices, and manage payment methods.
Troubleshooting
"Invalid login" or login rejection on my.contabo.com
Use credentials from “Your login data!” email; reset via 'Please click here if you forgot your password' link. Verify active subscription.
Cannot access new.contabo.com
Set up credentials first via my.contabo.com > Customer details. Use 'Forgot password?' link if needed.
No access due to inactive subscription
Renew subscription or place new order to regain entry.
2FA or browser issues
Disable/re-enable 2FA in Customer details; try incognito mode or different browser.
Server connection fails post-login
Check server status for outages; use 'I can't connect' guide in Help Desk.
